Topps Match Attax

Match Attax is the most popular football trading card game on the market. We were asked to create a fresh new treatment for the release of the Match attax new series. As Gareth Bail was arguably one of the best players in the world due to his last season success we thought he would be the man to promote and take it to the next level.

Glowing in the gleam emitting from Wales International and Tottenham Hotspur left-back Gareth Bale, the ad is aimed at driving kids into a collective, collecting frenzy as the new football season springs into action.

This unveiling also includes the first outing of the ‘Its from Topps’ Animated Brand Ident, also re-designed by James and the superhero team. This will be used across all of Topps’ moving image campaigns.

The challenge with this ad was making it feel like Gareth was in a real stadium, with a real crowd atmosphere – but still giving us the control we needed – and without a HUGE budget we decided to make the whole thing in CGI ! GULP!

We used a RED camera and half circle dolly track to create the ‘money shot’ of the camera rotating around the stadium.
